IT Support RI is proud to announce their partnership with the Rhode Island-based Tech Collective. Founded in the mid-90’s as RI Software Association, Tech Collective partners with companies, nonprofits, entrepreneurs, government, academia, and the technology workforce. The goal of the collective is to encourage and develop diverse populations to enrich the technology community. Membership is open to all who are passionate about the growth of technology innovation and opportunity for all in Rhode Island. This has empowered local Rhode Islanders to achieve certifications for IT positions that are in demand. Several programs have been spearheaded by the network, including youth programs, leadership development programs, and initiatives for women in technology.

Since its transition from the Rhode Island Technology Council in 2004, the Tech Collective has received more than $12M in federal, state, and private grant funding to foster industry collaboration, awareness and development. Awards and funding include Governor’s Workforce Board RI Industry Partnerships, Real Jobs RI, Ready to Work/Tech Force RI, and national recognition with the state of Rhode Island from TechHire initiative.

This year, Tech Collective is partnering with Providence Business News to present the Cybersecurity Summit on October 7. The summit will feature Tom Doyle, Cyber Intelligence Analyst from the FBI’s Boston Field Office. Attendance is expected to be high for this event, which will be hosted virtually. With the current pandemic and more employees working remotely, they will provide important up-to-date information on a variety of threats and offer advice many areas of cyber security.
